How long does it take to complete the Specialisation?
The Specialisation contains five courses and the Capstone. The five MOOCs each have four modules of content, and the Capstone has five modules. You should be able to complete each module in approximately five hours of work, meaning that the Specialisation as a whole should take you 125 hours to complete. Each course has an indicative four week structure (five in the case of the Capstone) but you are welcome to complete each course at your own pace.
What background knowledge is necessary?
No specific background knowledge is necessary. However, if you are planning to take this Specialisation as an entry route to the University of London Global MBA, you will still need to have at least one of the core requirements for entry to be eligible after completing the Specialisation.
Do I need to take the courses in a specific order?
With the exception of the Capstone, no, you do not need to take the courses in a specific order. As the Capstone will draw on aspects of all of the other courses in the Specialisation, we strongly advise completing these before embarking on this part of the Specialisation.
Will I earn university credit for completing the Specialisation?
No, these MOOCs are not credit bearing. However, gaining a certificate for the Specialisation may help you meet the entry requirements for the University of London Global MBA.
How will the Specialisation prepare me for the Global MBA?
The Specialisation is designed to help you develop and build the essential business, academic, and cultural skills necessary to succeed in international business or in MBA study. You will be introduced to key concepts which will come up on the University of London Global MBA, as well as being given an overview of current themes in international business. If you have been out of education for more than ten years, you may also find this Specialisation helps you get back into the mind-set of university learning.
I don’t meet the work experience requirement for the Global MBA, but I already have a degree involving a lot of maths and statistics. Do I have to complete those MOOCs?
Yes. You must complete and pass all MOOCs in the Specialisation to gain a certificate to use as part of your application for Entry Route 2 of the Global MBA
I don’t have a degree, but I have more than three years’ worth of work experience. Do I have to complete the Professional Skills and Management Skills MOOCs to apply for the Global MBA?

I’m not interested in taking the Global MBA. Can I still do the course?
Yes! The course is open to everyone, and will be useful for those starting out in the workplace, or considering further study in any of the areas covered by these MOOCs
How much will the Specialization cost?
The Specialisation is priced under the Subscription Model at $49 per month.
When you subscribe to a course that is part of a Specialisation, you will be automatically subscribed to the entire Specialisation. If you are just interested in a single course in the Specialisation, you will need to cancel your subscription after completing this course in order to stop the recurring monthly charge.
I’m planning to use the Specialisation to support my application for the Global MBA. When do I need to complete it by?
You will need to complete all MOOCs in the Specialisation and gain your certificate in advance of the application deadline for the session of the MBA you would like to join. Please see below for these dates:
April 2017 start- apply before 15th March 2017
July 2017 start- apply before 21st June 2017
October 2017 start- apply before 13th September 2017
January 2018 start- apply before 13th December 2017
Do I need to complete the Specialisation before applying for the Global MBA entry route 2 option?
No, you can submit an online application for the Global MBA before taking the required Specialisation. The University of London admissions team will then request you to take this and advise you on how to upload this to your record upon completion. The University of London will need to see evidence that you have completed this Specialisation at least 1 day before the published registration deadline for the relevant session.
How regularly do the courses start?
With the exception of the Capstone, each course in the Specialisation will begin once every two weeks. The Capstone will begin once every six weeks.
