By looking into this course, you want to learn, it's as simple as that. I thought that IT was for people who knew about computers and did not give a thought to the fact that everyone has to start somewhere. I was frightened that I would be way out of my depth, this course and the way it is laid out really helped me understand, but want to know more. Take my advice and jump in as it is worth learning about.

I am completely new to this program. I appreciate how the content is broken down into increments that are simply a few minutes. This makes it so much easier to digest, versus extended lectures, that you can easily get lost along the way. Thank you for really considering the user, when you developed this course!! I'm looking forward to learning and matriculating through the program, on to my new career!

I enrolled on this specialization after completing the IT Automation with Python Certificate in the same series. I have a decent programming background, but no exposure to networks, in particular. The quality of production is excellent and the presenters are enthusiastic. I already feel less intimidated by IT jargon. It’s interesting how long it takes to spin up a Windows compared to the Linux version.

This course helps a 'dummy' like me, who have not many clues on the technical details of computers, into someone who is aware and understand more in depth about computers. I would recommend anyone who is just like me, started out with nothing, to take up this course. It is a good starting point to build up a strong foundation before going to other professional course certification like CCNA an CompTIA A+.

Excellent Fundamentals course, fully rounded and taught by varied professionals to accentuate the best of each aspect of technical support basics with some advanced concepts done simply, out of the gate. This course preps you for moving on to other essentials aspects of tech support, like file and process analysis.

I would recommend this course to anyone who is serious about a career in technical support.

This course is very hands on and interesting. It gives you detailed information, from the history to following the trends to get an idea of how the future is formulating. It's not hard to follow along and keep up with the scheme of things. Each course director is very friendly and I like how they give you a background on how they each got started on their journeys. I hope to have a story to tell soon.

This first course has been a world of basic and in depth information within the world of technology. I came in with a general understanding about computers and have come out with not only how they work, but also how everything communicates with each other and even a history background of how everything became what it is today. I am glad I started this course and look forward to the rest of the program!

The first course in the IT Support Professional Certificate was very easy to use and follow along with. The instructors were very personable and interesting. I love the added extra stories about people's backgrounds which many are not from a "tech" background. The videos are short but packed with useful info, given in small 'bits' at a time so new concepts can be grasped quickly. Great job Googlers!

This is a great course to learn or review the basics of computer architecture and operating systems. It also touches on simple tasks such as installing or uninstalling programs on both Windows and Linux. There is a section on the interview process, tips, and soft skills needed for working in IT. I appreciated how comprehensive this course was, and I feel confident going forward to complete the program.

As I find myself having a hard time continuing my education due to the pandemic, I am glad to say that this course has provided me options I never thought I had. Only one course and I already learned the basics of IT such as networking, trouble shooting, computer hardware, and the list goes on. This course has convinced me that I still have a chance to pursue my career path even after so many failures.

This was a great program for someone who has no IT background and needs a very basic review. Which was great for me! I am currently switching careers and needed the basics of the basics. Google does a great job in the layout, video sound quality, time frame of videos to maintain attention and the interactive quizzes and labs offered! Highly recommend as a starter and a great motivator to keep learning.

This course gives me a taste on all the broad aspects of IT support. For those who are hesitating on taking this program, you should try the first course and then decide. Personally I was attracted to all the aspects mentioned in this course and decided to finish the rest of this program. Also, if you are not considering getting this certificate, knowing a little bit more about IT will also be helpful.

The truth is that I really liked this course, I already had prior knowledge about technical support, but for people who don't, it's an excellent course, because the information provided is very accurate and gives you a very broad overview. The videos are easy to understand and the fact that they include success stories from the instructors is a good thing because it motivates you to continue studying.

I loved it. We went over the fundamentals and worked on different areas of the IT field. I enjoyed learning to help fellow computer users, working in a Virtual Machine atmosphere as well as working with the Linux Operating System with which I had never worked with before. Very interesting to me. Thank you and I hope to continue to improve my computer skills with the next courses to come. Thanks again.

Great course. I would recommend taking this course irrespective of the fields you are working in. This course is so simple and very effective. I can definitely say that this the best online course I have ever took. The amount of gaining knowledge after completing this course is so satisfying. You will walk out of this course with knowledge and would definitely be more curious to learn remaining parts.

The Qwiklabs won't give you credit unless you spend at least 5 minutes on the lab. The first couple of labs (making folders in Windows and Linux) took me about 3 minutes. I completed them several times (getting faster each time) and it wasn't until I contacted tech support that they were able to explain the "grace period". If this were included in the directions, I think there would be less confusion.

This course was a little overwhelming at first but with a little persistence and concentration I made it through. The course lectures are engaging and I'm very much interested in finishing all 6 courses. I love the fact that you can transfer your completed assignments over to the next class to catch up and complete on time with that class if you fall back from your original class. Thank you Coursera!

I can truly say that all the class that I have taken here is worth and I learned a lot. In the past, it was a matter of just going through the motions, but the way this course was run and the way the video presentation and materials were provided above and beyond just reading the book, made things clearer and easier for me to understand. I feel like I "know" something with IT support. Thank you again.

Very awesome! I was expecting the course to just be strictly based on the basics of IT from an academic viewpoint. However, I also received lessons and information on all aspects of IT including "how to apply for a position", "how to document" and I got to learn about others and their experiences in IT which for some are very similar to mine. Looking forward to what the rest of courses have to offer.

I am excited to be able to learn IT remotely. I would not have thought this was even possible in the past. I work with technology every day. Many of the things I do, I do because that is the way I was taught to do it. It is nice to put some of what I do in context, & to start understanding why it is done that way, and already starting to think of ways to improve the processes I use to complete tasks.

Google has their name big as always! Superb start to IT Support Specilization. They seem to have worked a lot for the students to learn, clear concepts, and not get bored by any module. Everyone Should enroll in this Course, they have given good knowledge about Computer Hardware, Networking, Troubleshooting, Walking to the Interview through building a good resume, etc. Very Good starting experience!

I think that the technical Support Fundamentals course was great. I think that a revision of the glossary terms would be nice. I noticed that some of the terms appeared to have been extracted form the Web by a program and it didn't pull the most relevant definition for the course. Also adding an ungraded Glossary quiz at the end of the course or at the end of each week would be great for practice.
