[MUSIC] So now that you've received some feedback from your peers and you put aside your production for a little while to give it a rest, it's time to reopen, re-listen, and analyze your product in terms of how your goals are going to be achieved through editing or any sort of initial tweaks that you need to make to the production. >> I think this is a good chance to actually, maybe even give up on a little bit of the initial goal. Right, and I would suggest looking back on your emotional contour and on the dynamic contour. See if you've actually achieved that, is that there, and does it need to be adjusted, because we have all these great tools. Maybe we do need to change. >> And it's okay if you do. >> It's okay if you do. Yeah, absolutely. >> Take a look at the feedback that you've gotten. Listen with fresh ears, take some notes on that very first listen. And it could very well be, that in terms of editing, you just have a little bit of housekeeping to do. You just want to comp things, and tighten things up. But it could also be, that you could try something more drastic. If people are saying wow, that one two line phrase, I really vibrated with. Maybe you make that into a refrain, you try actually cutting things up, in terms of the form, to get that contour more in line with what you really would love for it to be. It's the wonderful thing about working in a digital non linear world. Just make sure to do Save As. [LAUGH] And then if it doesn't work, you don't have to keep it. >> I've made the bridge in to a chorus so many times. because it's that one little thing that was there. And I just noticed, from people telling me, that that one phrase was the right one. >> Absolutely, you may as well try it. >> Just go for it
