Hi, my name's John Cooney and I work for Kongregate and I just wanted to talk today about some of the cool things we're doing at Kongregate and how to get your games onto Kongregate.com. So we'll start off by talking a little bit about what exactly Kongregate is. Kongregate is an open games platform that exists on the web. And it's open for all game developers to upload their games and immediately see their games on Kongregate.com. Which is really cool because the moment you put a game on the website, players start coming in. They start giving you feedback and it's just a really cool ecosystem and it's really great to see developers coexist here too. It's just a really fun place to upload games and to get great users who are really engaged with your content. The publishing is done on an individual basis, so the moment that your game is ready, you get to go put it up on the website. You don't have to wait for us to pull any levers or push any buttons, the game goes live immediately. And because of that, many, many game developers have found it very, very easy to upload games to Kongregate.com. And we've had over 100,000 games submitted since the portal opened back in 2006. And speaking of 2006, let's talk about the history of Kongregate. Kongregate was created by a brother/sister team of Jim and Emily Greer back in 2006. Kongregate was built during a time where a lot of games, especially on the internet, were getting stolen and a lot of developers were not necessarily being treated well by a lot of different groups. Whether it was publishers or specific game portals, there was just a need for there to be a space where game developers could get paid for their work and to be supported in a collaborative environment where publisher, platform, and developer can all coexist together. Kongregate was built and games immediately started coming in and developers have been sharing revenue on ads, monthly contest earnings and our using the virtual goods epi's and ads to earn good amount of money and it's been really great to see as myself a game developer to see the site grow and see how it's changed over time. Kongregate has since then moved from not only being a web platform to also being a publisher and working with developers to bring their games, and to carry the same philosophy over to other places where you can publish games. Kongregate.com is a really great place to showcase your games, and here's a few really quick reasons why it's great to bring your game here. Beyond having a huge user base which will love to play your games, we offer some services that are really unique to the space. One of the best benefits of coming to Kongregate.com is the ability to iterate quickly. Being able to iterate quickly means that you can upload a build to Kongregate.com, have users tell you what's wrong with your game or what's right with your game, and then being able to respond to that. Make the changes, upload again, and see the changes take place immediately. This is something that make game developments so much easier and so much more fun to do. We also have a beta program, where you can upload your game and get your game to a smaller audience before you go out to the larger audience. What this is great for is being selective in the group of people you're showing your game to, so that you're not releasing a super buggy game right out of the gate. And it's great for the beta test users because they often have really great feedback and are really happy to let you know what they like or don't like. Speaking of that great beta group, Kongregate.com in general just has an amazing audience. The users on Kongregate.com are very excited to give you lots and lots of feedback, to point out what they really like about the game, and to rally behind you as a game developer. You just have to show a little bit of that in return. You have to be able to listen to the audience, work collaboratively with them to listen to what their needs are. And to update the game and service the game as like a live instrument. Kongregate.com is friendly to most web languages. Unity, Flash, and HTML5 are all welcome. Kongregate's always been platform agnostic to web technologies and we're always excited to see what's coming next. We also offer monetization potential. We support virtual goods and a currency system, as well as optional ads that you can place in your game to generate extra revenue. On top of those monetization tools we have a ton of other tools such as high scores, which are great for leaderboards, level sharing and a whole host of other options that you can see at developers.Kongregate.com. Kongregate has a lot of popular genres, but the one's that we specifically see are tower defense games, launch games, idle games, RPGs, platformers and simulators, twitch/arcade games incremental upgrade games and puzzle games. Alongside our web platform we also publish games from amazing Developers. A publisher is someone who helps a game developer get their games to other platforms and provides services that the game developer otherwise wouldn't be capable of or needs help doing. For example, we have a lot of knowledge in marketing, analytics, monetization, and we have channels for communicating to other platforms and advising on important game design and production facets. This is really critical for game developers, as they need to focus often on game mechanics, design and making sure that all the parts of their game are functioning perfectly. We're there for all the other parts that the developer need help on. Kongregate has been publishing to mobile and to other platforms for the last few years. In general, our philosophy is that we love games, but even more so, we love game developers and it's our mission to nurture and support game developers in the best way we can to help them make the best games. So that's it. I hope that gives you a pretty great overview of Kongregate. You should go visit Kongregate.com and see some of our really awesome games that are coming up every single day.
