Thomas Kearney, Pharm.D., DABAT

Bio

Dr. Kearney is Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco, Managing Director of the San Francisco Division of the California Poison Control System, and completed a one-year mid-career fellowship (Institute for Health Policy Studies, Institute for Health and Aging and Health Research Training Program, UCSF School of Medicine) in health services research. Dr. Kearney is a graduate of the University of California School of Pharmacy. He completed a Residency in Hospital Pharmacy at the University of Michigan and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in clinical toxicology at University of California, San Diego and San Francisco. He has served as Associate Director of the Louisiana State Regional Poison Control Center and the Executive Director of the Delaware Valley Regional Poison Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He has served in leadership positions in the American Association of Poison Control Centers (Treasurer) and as a Diplomate and President-elect of the American Board of Applied Toxicology. He has presented 54 scientific papers and has published 36 journal articles and 14 book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for seven scientific and medical journals and is associate editor for the publication: Poisoning and Drug Overdose - a Lange clinical manual, Appleton and Lange publishers.
