Michel Georges received his diploma in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Liège and Master of Science in Molecular Biology from Université libre de Bruxelles, both in Belgium. Michel Georges is currently the Director of the GIGA institute and a group leader of the Unit of Animal Genomics there. His multidisciplinary team specializes in the genomic analysis of complex phenotypes of particular importance in medicine and agronomy. Main research interests: genetics of complex traits (IBD), phenotype and genotype-driven screens for agronomically important genes and variants and genomic selection.
