Bio

Dr. Joseph Goldfarb is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He has extensive experience in medical, graduate, and postdoctoral education. From 1977 through 2012 he was course director for the Icahn School of Medicine's Pharmacology course, and from 1979 to 2000 was director of our interdisciplinary postdoctoral training program in Pharmacology of Drugs of Abuse. He has served on numerous question writing and review committees and task forces, and chaired the Pharmacology committee at the National Board of Medical Examiners, the organization that oversees the initial licensing exams (USMLE) for physicians in the U.S. He presently serves on committees that write and review questions on understanding the medical literature for steps 2 and 3 of the USMLE.
