Dr Graham Smith

Bio

Graham Smith is a Senior Lecturer in History at Royal Holloway, University of London. He is a member of the Department’s Public History team, teaching and publishing on public history, oral history and the history of modern medicine. In his research he uses oral history to find out how people understand history, both personal and public. He has a chapter on the public history of Magna Carta, with Anna Green, in the Oxford Handbook of Public History (forthcoming). Graham is also currently chair of the Oral history Society http://www.ohs.org.uk/. Employed at Royal Holloway for the past seven years, he has also taught and researched the recent history of medicine in medical faculties at the University of Glasgow and the University of Sheffield. He has also taught history at the Open University.
